WELCOME TO FRESHLINE'S

FIELD OPERATOR COURSE

THE ONLY PROGRAM ON THE GLOBE

DESIGNED BY MOTO EXPEDITION LEADERS

TO HELP YOU DEVELOP THE SKILLS YOU NEED

FOR ANY MOTO ADVENTURE

We're Freshline Moto Expedition Club

& we're making true moto adventure accessible to men.

Welcome To Freshline!

We explore the world on two wheels by building highly vetted, all-male moto expedition teams and exploring new places for the first time, together.

From Guatemala to Namibia to Papua New Guinea, our expeditions aren’t tours. They’re team-based missions into the unknown—where every rider plays a role, every challenge matters, and the shared goal is simple: complete the mission.

Spots on our expeditions teams are not given, our members all started at our exclusive Moto Expedition Training Camp and occasionally invites are given.

Training Camp is an immersive, 7 day training in the Guatemalan highlands. You'll spend 7 days with vetted expedition leaders who will train you in riding, campcraft, mechanical, navigation, and emergency response skills to prepare them for any moto adventure.

Men leave with real-world moto capability: riding varied terrain and technical obstacles, hands-on mechanics for maintenance and roadside repairs, navigation for true exploration—globally or in your own backyard—medical response skills, and the ability to function as a strong, reliable teammate.

This isn’t a weekend workshop or a guided holiday. Training Camp is a fully immersive experience—designed by moto adventurers for moto adventurers—who are ready to invest in themselves physically, mentally, and skill-wise.

We exist to make true moto expeditions accessible to men. And it’s through skill development—and the confidence that comes from knowing you can handle whatever comes your way—that real freedom becomes possible.

SKILLS YOU'LL MASTER

IN THE FIELD OPERATOR COURSE

With The Help Of Our Experienced Expedition Leaders

THIRD WORLD RIDING

Rider navigating a sandy turn

We expect that you already have experience riding off road, and we'll build on what you know.

Expect a lot of slow, deliberate work:
- Balance and body position that works on any terrain
- Controlled braking - on hills, rocks, loose surfaces, and the unexpected
- Figure 8s, serpentines, and technical drills that transform tight turns
- The slow race (yes, we crown a champion): how slow can you go without putting a foot down

- Riding with a fully loaded bike (yes it feels different...way different)

- Tackling suspension bridges, rivers, mud and sand

- Riding under fatigue

- Riding in third world towns and traffic

- Off-Road riding in real terrain

We'll then test your skills in real world conditions. By the end, you won’t just ride better. You’ll ride calmer, smoother, and more in control - no matter what the trail throws at you.

GEAR, PACKING, & CAMP SYSTEMS

Mechanics hands on training

We're going remote, so don't expect fancy hotels. Learning how to pack so you are totally self suffiecient is a critical skill of moto expedition travel. When you have a critical medical or mechanical issue sometimes the only option is to shelter in place.

We'll teach you exactly what gear you need, how we pack for extreme efficiency, and our unique 4x4 packing method which allows us to be ready for anything.

You'll learn:
- What to bring & what not to bring
- The 4 levels of preparedness you need to plan for on expedtions
- The 4 critical systems which will determine your ability to move forward as a team
- Our 3 bag packing protocol which creates maximum efficiency
- How we set up up camp, gear discipline, and layering gear systems

- Cooking methods, camp stoves, and camp meals
- How we set up camp for security in higher risk areas
- How to use gear in unconventional ways when you're in a pinch

You'll be using your gear and camp systems daily, and by the end of your training week, you'll operate as though you've spent a decade living off your bike.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Practicing emergency response

Confidence to explore doesn’t come from luck, it comes from knowing what to do when things go sideways, especially for experienced riders who don’t take unnecessary risks.

Our real-world medical training prepares you for the moments no cell phone can solve. What do you do when someone goes down? How do you stabilize them? How do you get help? And how do you respond based on their condition?

This isn’t a certification course, it’s about learning how to command an emergency scene and stabilize the 6 most common injuries while you get help quickly. These skills can mean the difference between life and death.

You’ll learn:
- The tools and resources you must have when traveling off-grid
- Safety protocols for moto adventures
- How to respond (and what not to do) when someone is down
- How to get help, no matter where you are (even out of cell range)
- What to pack in your medical kit for any moto adventure

By the end, you won’t just be riding confidently, you’ll be ready to act decisively and keep your team safe, no matter what the trail throws at you.

HANDS ON MECHANICS

Mechanics hands on training

This isn’t a theory class. It’s full immersion. You’ll learn how motorcycles actually work...by working on them. Every day. Hands dirty. Tools in hand. Real problems to solve, so you can stay self-reliant when the mechanic isn't just down the road.

Our shop sessions are designed to build real mechanical confidence, not just knowledge. You’ll learn what tools to use, when to use them, and how to work smarter—not harder (yes, leverage matters).

Through repetition and real-world scenarios, you’ll learn to:
- Change tires until it’s second nature
- Diagnose “no start” situations when a bike won’t fire
- Perform oil changes and routine servicing
- Complete meaningful pre-ride inspections - daily
- Remove wheels, maintain chains, and service critical components
- Set up a bike properly for your body and the terrain
- Understand common breakdowns and how to troubleshoot them
- Know which tools to carry—and why—on any ride

You won’t just memorize steps. Bikes will be intentionally sabotaged. You’ll be challenged to think, diagnose, and fix problems under pressure, just like you would on an expedition.

COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS

Practicing emergency response

After running moto expeditions all over the world for the last 9 years, we've seen the fastest way a situation goes from bad to worse is because of a lack of communication planning.

You’ll learn how to:

- Set up helmet mounted radio communicators and sync as a team

- Talk using universal moto expedition voice commands
- Communicate with hand signals when radios are down

- Set up satellite communication using Garmin InReach systems

- The critical numbers you should always have on hand
- How to communicate with remote tribes where google translate doesn't work
- The PACE method which ensures you always have a line to the outside world, no matter where you are.

By the end of the week with us, you'll be communicating like a team of highly capable operators - ccovering each other from risk while laughing along the way.

ROUTE PLANNING & NAVIGATION

Riding in deep woods

Ever looked at a map, spotted a goat trail or dried-up river bed, and thought: How do I get there? How do I ride that? What do true explorers know that I don’t?

That’s exactly what we teach. Every day, we build off-the-beaten-path routes—from the guts of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to the volcanic valleys of Indonesia. We know how to find the best routes no one else will tell you about. Whether your goal is adventure in your backyard or across the globe, these are the skills you need for true moto freedom.

Beyond route planning, we teach the full system behind a successful adventure:
- Which apps and tools to trust
- How to create backups and contingency plans
- How to validate your route before you even go
- How to read maps like a pro

You and your team will put it all to the test. You’ll build your own route, pack your kits, and ride a full adventure with a mission objective. Explore the unknown as a team and see if you can complete the mission, but the real question is: will you?

Riders leave confident

Built for everyday men who want real capability, an amazing adventure, and a good time doing it.

I had so much fun, also massively rewarding! Was 100X worth it!

It’s easy as an adult to subject myself to environments that are easy and successful for me; but to put myself in one where I relinquish control and come face to face with my limits and potential failure, was such valuable experience.

Without a doubt life altering.

— Mick, 34

Our instructors came across as personable and realistic people.

At no point did it feel like a formal paid class, but more like part of a friend group with leaders who really cared about us getting the skills, enjoying our time, and learning as much as possible.

One of the most impressive courses that I have ever been a part of.

— Bruce, 62

I think Freshline has done an amazing job at creating environments where men are taught the skills and then are challenged to step up and use them in real world conditions.

By bringing the opportunity to truly have an adventure, whether it be riding in some very difficult rain or being physically and emotionally challenged to use skills in fatigue situations, I think they've crushed it.

— Paul, 54

OUR PLAYGROUND

The Guatemalan Highlands

We run our expedition training in Guatemala because...it’s as real as it gets. We'll start in a controlled environment in Antigua and then work our way into the highlands as we progress.

This is a true expedition: unpredictable roads, remote Mayan villages where Spanish isn’t spoken, and no reliance on cell service or Google Translate.

You’ll navigate desert, jungle, rivers, mud, sand, and rock, all within a constantly changing system that forces you to adapt.

It also gives us the opportunity to live our motto of 'Leave it Better'. We work directly with Mayan communities through missions like delivering medicine, water filters, and critical resources.

And while the environment is unforgiving, it’s not reckless. Guatemala has a reliable medical system and helicopter rescue network if needed.

Why This Matters

In order for you to really apply the skills we're teaching, at some point we need to move you from controlled practise into the actual environment you're training for.

We're going to put you into real scenerios and get you to figure it out. If you get stuck, we'll be there, but the idea is for you to leave confident that you've REALLY 'done it before'.

Plus, Guatemala is a LOT of fun.

FAQ

Here's The Intel On All Things Training

How Much Is The Field Operator Course?

The Field Operator Course is $4997 USD and includes EVERYTHING (accommodation, bike use, coaching, transportation, fuel, meals etc) except flights and travel insurance. We do offer payment plans which we’ll go over during your assessment call.

Do I have to go on an expedition if I attend the training?

No, The Field Operator Course is not a commitment to travel with us. It is the first step only for men who want to join a FRESHLINE expedition, but it’s also designed as a standalone experience for those who simply want to build real-world moto skills alongside other like-minded guys.

Nothing is required beyond the camp itself.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

We wake up early, get moving and have breakfast. The first few days will be skills intensive in a controlled environment. As you pick up more skills we'll begin riding through Guatemala and applying them each day. The more riding we do, the more you'll be tested with new challenges.

There isn't a lot of down time. Instead, it's full learning immersion with hands on experiences on repeat so new skills actually stick.

What Are The Accommodations Like?

We'll be self supported and operating as a mobile camp. Everything we have we pack on the bikes. You'll be using a tent as your primary accommodations. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

What Kind Of Bikes Will We Be Riding?

We primarily use the DR650 as our training bike. We've used it all over the world and it's unstoppable.

It's a great enduro bike for teaching mechanics and can handle a beating if we get into anything rough. It's field repairable and it's the only model that's never let us down. There's a reason it has a cult following.

I'm Older/Have Bad Knees... Can I Still Come?

Absolutely. Age and physical limitations aren’t the deciding factor, mindset is. We teach you how to confidently ride using proven techniques that rely on leverage and skill rather than brute force. Our most common participants are guys in their 50s and 60s mastering this course every session.

What's The Average Age Of The Guys Who Do This?

The average guy who registers with us is a business owner in his 50's who's worked from the ground up to build what he's got. He's got a little more time and a few more resources now and he's looking for an opportunity to explore further than he ever has - while leaving the world a little better along the way.

That being said, our club includes members aged 18 to 70+. We’ve met plenty of 'old' 30-year-olds and 'young' 60-year-olds. If you have the right mindset to be a team player, we'll find a spot for you.

Why do I have to apply?

We do this to prevent the wrong people - those who don't share in our mission and values - from showing up and impacting other people's experience. We run our training in culturally sensitive areas and you may represent your entire nation with one interaction. We take that responsibility very seriously.

How do I get there?

You fly to Guatemala City and take an uber to Antigua. We'll have a hotel room waiting for you and we'll transport you to our moto compound the next day.

I don't have a lot of dirt experience, is this for me?

You'll want to have SOME experience riding dirt before you come, but we'll work with you where you're at. If you've never ridden on dirt you can still register but we'll ask that you take a dirt riding course before the start of your training with us.
